Xperia Experience

Ladies and gentlemen who read my blog (the few but the important :) ) I have a proud and joyful announcement to make. Remember the days when I used Emerico's old phone with the duct taped battery and no back cover? My mom's iMate sp-5, the Windows phone built in 2003, which was so slow and crappy it completely put me off cell phones? Well, my friends, those days are over, because I have a new cellphone!! *cue whistles, screams of thankfulness, delight and general applause*

Yes that's right I bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro and to say it's a beautiful piece of work is an understatement. Its breathtaking. The super fast, liquid touch Timescape UI powered by a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor is just sexy. A slight caress and the screen just floats under your fingers. The Android Gingerbread OS is like a dream come true and the cherry on the cake is that Sony just announced that the Xperia Mini Pro will be able to upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich which is going to be even tastier than the Gingerbread!(sorry couldn't resist :P) The phones completely Facebook integrated and has a complete Moxier account too. The camera is just splendid! Its just 5MP, but has almost similar picture clarity as the 8MP camera in certain lightings (this is expected considering its Sony) and the best part is that it has HD video recording! Also included are the usual Sony perks of the Sweep Panaroma view and the capability to click 3D pictures. The slide out QWERTY keyboard too is such a joy. The button response is lovely and it makes you WANT to type stuff. Kinda like old typewriters. The main thing for me though was the music player. Music is an integral part of my life and the in-built player on the Xperia seems to share the same values. Nice playlist editors, good equaliser settings, appealing interface and the decent headphones that came with the phone clinched it. Music equals joy on this phone.

The best part of the phone though is its ability to just do stuff. Crazy stuff. Insane stuff. And it's all thanks to the OS. The apps available on the android market nothing short of brilliant! Give me an internet connection, download the app, and I can do practically anything on my phone!

This is the third phone I have purchased and owned. The thing about the phone is that there is something there. Just something about it that attracts me. Its very me. My first phone was a Nokia 6600 and I loved it. My second was a Nokia N72 and I loved it even more. I went of the Nokia path with the Sony Ericsson and a lot of people were stunned by that because I'm a die-hard Nokia guy but the Xperia just did it for me. I wouldn't even take the Neo V over this. I'm head over heals in love with this phone and like I said before, its beautiful.
