This is some shit I wrote a while back. It was a work of fiction, just a couple of ideas but I decided to sort of flesh it out.
Her words hit me, like a jagged spear of ice,
I didn't register it at first, but then their implications hit me.
I however took it in my stride,
It was expected for quite some time.
I took my sorrow and buried it deep,
Yeah it killed me, but I would do anything to keep her happy.
But what shocked me was her incredible candor,
When she told me she didn't love me anymore.
How then am I supposed to smile and be nice,
When my heart is so badly hurt inside?
All those words count for nothing,
And the times were a lie.
Now when my knees give way and my spirit gets low,
There is nobody to catch me but the floor.
But I shall bear all this and walk a thousand miles more,
For my love still stands despite her blows.
Everything I did for her will have no regrets,
I saw her smile and that was the best,
Those days gone by, now a movie set,
Every piece of which I will never forget.
And though my insides are welled with pain,
I shall always love the girl who won't remember my name.

So simply, yet, or maybe hence, so accurately described. Haven't we ALL felt that?
"Now when my knees give way and my spirit gets low,
There is nobody to catch me but the floor." :-(
