2012

The year is over and a new one has begun. Those people that read my blog will know that last year was a rather crappy one for me, and those who know me personally will know that it was actually more worse than that. But taking nothing away from 2011, I have to say it was pretty eventful. There were a lot of 'firsts' for me in that year and consequently a lot of lessons learnt, sometimes in a very harsh way.

Discontinuing the current path of where the blog post is heading let me tell you about New Year's Eve this time. Jason, his cousin Kolin and me decided to go to Emerald Lawns just like old times and we met up with Gitanjali and her cousin Natasha there. The turn of events that happened after that could best be described as 'doing nothing but owh so fun!' :) I really enjoyed their company and it was all was very pleasant. Unfortunately Gitanjali and Natasha had to leave soon because Natasha's dad came to pick them up. I met loads of other people after that, including some regular Emeralds lags and overall the night was fun, happy, dance-y, and to be honest a little weird towards the end. It was around 5.40 in the wee hours of morning when we left and we decided to go for mass on the out itself. So after dropping Kolin home (he came on his own bike, we just gave him company) we decided to go to Don Bosco's for mass and thus this conversation.

Me: Hmmm..its just 5.45, what shall we do for an hour?
Jason: *puzzled look* What do you mean? We are going for mass right?
Me: Yeah, but there is plenty of time for the 7 AM service..I'm not just sitting in church till then!!
Jason: *straight faced* We are going for the mass at 6 dude.
Me: *slack jawed* What?? You're joking right? Theres just 15 minutes left!! We'll reach midway into mass and I don't wanna walk in there like that!
Jason: You forgot whose riding the bike bitch, now shut the fuck up and get on the damn bike.

He then proceeded to get us from the interiors of Porvorim to the church in Panjim in around 10 minutes.

The ride back after mass was the highlight of my night out for New Year's Eve (well actually I can't call it that because we were well into the new year by then and it wasn't really night) but I'm sure you get what I mean. Jason rode surprisingly slowly back home and there was complete silence between us(not the weird awkward silence but a deep comfortable silence) both of us just enjoying the ride. As we cruised up the Miramar-Dona Paula Highway the sun started coming up. Warm rays and a magnificent red sky to one side and the sea to the other. A warm fuzzy feeling ran through my spine. It was all very tranquil. I slipped into some deep thoughts and analyzed my life so far and what I could make it, the experiences I had, lessons learnt, memories to treasure and I thanked God for getting me through the old year and giving me another one to make things right. The whole thing combined toghether and gave great felling of a fresh start and no doubt about it, I am going to to make the best out of 2012. It's going to be a good year.

Happy New Year everybody. :)
